The FDEO Adapts to a Massive Surge in Demand by Creating the Marketing Cloud

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, or FDEO, serves as the lead agency for the State Emergency Response Team Emergency Support Function, or ESF, 18. Tasked with coordinating local, state, and federal agency actions providing immediate and short-term assistance to business and industry, ESF 18 helps foster improved levels of economic stabilization within the state.

During the first months of the pandemic, the FDEO experienced an upsurge in its emergency support functions. Across Florida, constituents underwent many unexpected disruptions, one of the most devastating being sudden job loss. As a result, many Floridians contacted the FDEO via social media. The FDEO subscribed to a general email service to provide administrative relief to meet the new communication needs.
